There are so many places that could not be missed in Beijing. The first ones should be the Forbidden City, the Summer Palace, the Ming Tombs.... See others at

Not very sure what you mean by seeing the Great Wall. So, maybe you could leave more words on what you want to know~

Many hotels can provide bookings to 3 Great Wall places. Most popular, therefore most crowded is Badaling. That is a relatively walk at that point and interesting but average in peak times 70,000 visitors. 90% of those tours also go to Ming Tombs. Might I suggest less commercial and stunning views but a much more dificult walk, Mutianyu section. There is a cable car from ticket area to a central portion. If you go west, about 2.2km to last part where visitors are allowed and elevation change of about 150m, therefore LOTS AND LOTS of steps. Take at least 2l of water. This may average 14,000 visitors and then much like Badaling stop at Ming Tomb, a stop on the way back at Beijing cloisionne factory. It seems to be practically mandantory as a part of their regimen to do this. By car, about 635RMB per person when there are 2 persons. This also is a nice way to see eastern Chinese countryside and the hills up to the Great Wall. Bus tour is a little cheaper, but no individual attention and translation.
