About:China Travel Tips

I plan to travel to china in may 2010. The reason I picked may is due to being told that the summer can be extremely hot and also that it rains alot more in the summer. Is this true?
Also I wanted to see all the popular sites china has to offer and was thinking about opting for a 9 day tour as advertised in a brochure, would this be worth doing? It doesn't include the river trip (i forget the name but i seen pictures and it looks amazing) has anybody done the river trip? and if you have would you recommend it?
Thanks to anybody who replies.
Craig.

Actually, May is a pleasant season for tourism in China. Regarding the 9 days you mentioned, could you please advise us the cities included, as well as the river you talked about? Do you mean the Yangztze River? If so, we can arrange the cruising trip for you.
