About:Chinese Embassy in Canada

My daughter who is 10 is traveling to Shanghai. She will be traveling alone. A family who lives there will be picking her up at the airport. Do you know if in China the family would be able to meet her at the plane? Are there direct flights from the New York area to Shanghai? Do we need the ticket purchased in order to get the visa. She would be traveling from approximately June 13th to July 11th. Should I just bring her in to the New York office or is it better to get the forms on line. This is all new to us and I'm not sure where to start. Thank you for all your help. Jennifer

Mrs Maier, I am afraid that the family can not pick your daughter up at the plane. China Eastern Airlines run direct flightts between Shanghai and New York. American Continental Airlines will launch a direct flight service linking Shanghai with New York as of March 26.
