Does an American passport holder need a Chinese visa to go to Shen Zhen? In the past, it was not required if it was a short stay. Now the government website doesn't talk about it any more. Please help.

US passports always need a visa to enter SZ.Previously one can pay for a visa on entry at many points of entry. But China went security banana over the Olympics. Bit by bit it is coming back to normal -- as if anything can be normal in China. Get a visa first.
