About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

240hrs visa in transit

Hello - I just booked an itinerary LAX - HKG - Phuket. During my 5 day stay in HKG, I plan to visit Shenzhen for a day. Would this route make me eligible for 240hrs visa and/or would I need to apply for VOA.

It's not eligible for the 240 as you would go back to HK for the flight to Phuket. You need to apply for VOA at Luohu, Huanggang or Shekou Port at a cost of CNY 130.
