About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

240 HRS transit visa - Is my itinery qualified

Hi,
I am a US citizen with a US passport. If I travel from Los Angeles to Guangdong, stay there for 3 days, then off to Chengdu for 2 days, then off to Chongqing for 4 days, then off to Hong Kong for 3 days before I head back to Los Angeles, am I eligible for the 240 hrs travel permit in China?
Thanks,
Iva

Yes, your itinerary is definitely eligible for 240 hour visa free transit and you do not need any kind of visa. Here is a couple of details that I would like to inform you in order that everything proceeds in a smooth way:

- Your flight from Los Angeles to Guangzhou has to be a direct (nonstop) flight and not a flight with a connection in Hong Kong.
- Since you plan to travel from Chongqing to Hong Kong you can do that by plane or train, but it is essential to have that ticket (regardless if it is plane or train) booked in advance, even before you depart from Los Angeles toward Guangzhou. You will be asked to present that ticket in both Los Angeles at the time of your check-in and in Guangzhou upon your landing there.

Have a nice visit to China.
