As far as your first query is concerned, you are absolutely correct in every aspect, but I would just like to add that you are allowed to return to Hong Kong not only via Luohu/Lo Wu, but you can also take any border crossing and any mean of transport, high speed train included.
You are also correct as far as your second query is concerned, but I would definitely suggest you to replace a coach (bus) ticket with a ferry that connects Zhuhai with Hong Kong directly. The coach tickets could be problematic because in many cases they are not related to particular fixed times, they are also segmented, you change coaches en route and in the end, you do not need to enter into lengthy conversations and explanations at the border crossing regarding this particular issue. It is also possible to use a bus from Hong Kong to Macau, exit to Zhuhai, from Zhuhai by ferry to Shenzhen and from there by train to Hong Kong. It is essential to have your exit ticket from mainland China bought in advance even before you appear at the border crossing when entering mainland China. It can be a ferry ticket from Zhuhai to Hong Kong, train ticket from Shenzhen to Hong Kong, ferry ticket from Shekou to Hong Kong or a coach ticket, but I strongly discourage you about the last option and encourage you to use a train or a ferry instead when exiting mainland China.
When exiting Macau toward Zhuhai you can use Hengqin border crossing or you can use also HZMB, although the latter could be a bit more complex in terms of public transport. In any case, you can use both border crossings to enter mainland China under 240 hour visa free transit, but be careful not to try Gongbei crossing because that one is not eligible. Hope this helps.
