About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Travelling to Guangzhou with a layover in Beijing

Hi, we are travelling from Manchester - Guangzhou (with a layover in Beijing) staying in Guangzhou for 5 days, then travelling to Singapore for 4 days. We're then travelling from Singapore to Guangzhou (as a layover) then to Beijing staying in Beijing for 2 nights, then travelling home to Manchester (UK). Would we be eligible for 2 x 240hour transit without visa's or would we have to have a visa as we are laying over in Beijing on the way there, and Guangzhou on the way back?

Yes, you itinerary is eligible for 2 x 240 hour visa free transit without any doubt. Also, you should not worry about your layovers within mainland China (Beijing before your visit to Guangzhou and Guangzhou before your visit to Beijing) because under 240 hour visa free transit you are allowed to cross the provincial boundaries. You should be aware that the immigration formalities are always performed at the very first point of landing within mainland China. So, during your first leg, you will perform all the formalities in Beijing and during your second leg, you will do it in Guangzhou. Just proceed with your travel plans and I wish you a wonderful journey.
