Hong Kong ID holder with British passport

Hello,
I am a HKID holder with a British passport, currently living in the UK.
I am planning my trip form UK to Hong Kong for May 2026. I was planning to visit Shenzhen during my travel for 1 - 3 days with overnight stay. I read somewhere that HKID holders need to apply for travel permit to China, but that takes about 20 days to be processed by the official departments, but my trip is only for 2 weeks.
My question is would I be able to apply for a Shenzhen 5 days VOA at Lo Wu on the day with my British passport and other travel documents instead of applying for HK ID travel permit to China, as that is much more time convenient for my travel.
Hope to hear from you soon, thank you.

Yes, you can apply for Shenzhen VOA at Lo Wu Port at a cost of CNY 130. You need to show your UK passport rather than HKID card.
