About:Apply for China Visa in a Third Country

which third country to apply from

Hello, I am interested in applying for an L class visa for a possible trip to China next year, but will not travel back to my home country (US) before then. I will be in Indonesia (tourist visa/limited-stay permit) and Brazil (tourist visa) before then, and have the option of applying for a Chinese visa from the embassies in either country. Would this be possible to do?

Michael, you can apply for a Chinese visa in a third country only when you have its residence permit or a long-term visa. So it doesn’t seem feasible to apply in Indonesia or Brazil as a short-term traveler.
