About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Does a 1 1/2 hour stop in a third country qualify for 10-day visa if enroute to the original country

My wife and I will be visiting China, on an organized tour and I would like to know if we qualify for the 10-day visa free program. We will be departing SFO 7 April arriving PEK nonstop 8 April and departing PVC for SFO 17 April. If we do not travel back to SFO non-stop but instead return to SFO on Eva Air with a 1 1/2 hour stop in TPE, does that qualify us for the 10-day visa free travel program? What documentation is required to board the flight from SFO to PEK if we do not have a China visa because we qualify for the 10-day visa free program? Does TPE qualify for an enroute stop? Plan: SFO-PKE-TPE (for 1 1/2 hours)-SFO. ICN as an alternate to TPE.

Yes, you qualify for the 240h visa free transit and Taiwan is considered as the third region in this policy. You need your flight ticket to TPE or ICN within 10 days to apply for the 240 at PEK and need to fill in the online arrival card before your board on the flight which will fasten the application process greatly.
