About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Qualification for 240 hr visa-free?

Hello, we are 4 US citizens (US passports) traveling on a cruise through Japan and finishing in Seoul, South Korea. We are planning to fly from Seoul (Incheon) through Taipei or Hong Kong into Hangzhou. We will then visit Hangzhou, Xian, and Beijing and, after 7 days total, fly from Beijing direct to Incheon. Would this qualify for the 240 hr visa-free program?

Yes, your itinerary is eligible for 240 hour visa free transit regardless if your immediate point before mainland China is in Taipei or Hong Kong. It is just important that your immediate point after mainland China is not in the same country/territory. So, if your immediate point after mainland China is in Seoul (Incheon), you can freely proceed with your travel plans and enjoy in your visa free exploration of the places in mainland China of your choice. Have a nice journey.
