About:Visa on Arrival

Day Trip to Schenzhen from Hong Kong

I'm a US citizen and my girlfriend is a Thai citizen. Can we do a day trip from Hong Kong to Shenzhen and then back to Hong Kong? If so, what visa do we need? Thai citizens have 30 day visa free. Can I use 240hr visa to visit Shenzhen for a day trip and then return to Hong Kong? Your website says the 240hr visa requires leaving China to a THIRD country.

Bryan, HK - Shenzhen- HK does not fit 240h visa free policy in deed. You can apply for a Shenzhen visa on arrival to have a Shenzhen day trip, at Luohu, Shekou or Huanggang port. Your girlfriend can enter visa-free.
