About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Geneva --> Beijing (stopover) --> Taipei (one week) --> Beijing (one week) --> Geneva

Hello, my partner and I are planning to travel from Switzerland to Taiwan via Beijing in June. We fly from Geneva to Beijing to Taipei on the first leg of the journey, and then from Taipei to Beijing to Geneva on the second leg. As we have to transit through Beijing to get back from Taipei anyway, we want to stay in Beijing for a week and visit a friend. I am a UK citizen and she is a US citizen. I want to check if we qualify for the 240 hour transit visa waiver with this itinerary? It seems to fit within the policy of transiting through Beijing rather than doing a round-trip to Beijing. Thank you for your help.

Yes, you two qualify the 240 hour visa free transit. Your two stops in Beijing are considered international transits.
