About:How to Travel to China without a Visa

US citizen traveling to China for family emergency US to Hong Kong to Chengdu to Taiwan or HK to US

My son teaches at an international school in Chengdu. As a US citizen traveling to China for family emergency do I need a VISA? My Chinese 10 year tourist VISA was cancelled/replaced by a dependent VISA which has expired.

I'm afraid you need a visa. But you can actually go to Chengdu visa free utilizing the 240h visa free transit by making a transit route like: US - China - the third country or region like Taiwan, HK, Macau, ...
