About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit in Guangdong

Arriving at Shenzhen airport and departing via land crossing to Hong Kong

Is it possible to fly into Shenzhen airport from Malaysia, then travel to Hong Kong via a land crossing to take a flight to Vietnam 3 days later? Obviously I would have my confirmed ticket from Hong Kong to Vietnam to show border officials.

Actually you need to show the ticket to leave Shenzhen for HK to the border officials of Mainland China to apply for the 240h visa free in Shenzhen. HK SAR and Mainland China have separate immigration departments. British passport holders don't need a visa to HK for 90 days' stay. I advise you take a train or a ferry from Shenzhen to HK and show the train or ferry ticket to the official.
