Actually, it is impossible to obtain a Shenzhen 5 days visa at the airport. There is no visa office there.
If your layover is shorter than 24 hours, you do not need any kind of visa because your journey will be covered by 24 hour visa free transit. Also, if your layover is a longer one, for example longer than 8 or 10 hours, you can apply for a temporary entry permit to be allowed to exit the airport.
So, if your layover is somewhere 8 to 24 hours long, the first thing that you will do upon your landing in Shenzhen will be to approach 24/240 hour visa free transit counter where you will apply for a temporary entry permit that is free of any charge. During the application you will present your flight tickets and a hotel booking confirmation if you plan to stay at the hotel. After a short check, the airport officials will decide on your application and hopefully it will be a positive outcome.
When your permit is granted you will head to the immigration and then outside of the airport to enjoy your time in Shenzhen on your own. Have a nice journey.
