About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

240 hours free visa transit for indonesian citizen

I plan to depart from Indonesia with a flight Surabaya-Hong Kong-Surabaya. To get a 240-hour free transit visa to China, after landing in Hong Kong, I stayed overnight and then headed to Shekou Port Macau to enter China by applying for a 240-hour free transit visa. Then I traveled around 24 provinces in China (Shenzen - Wuhan - Beijing - Shanghai - Guangzhou - Shenzhen for 9 days). Then with a high-speed train ticket in hand, I will leave Shenzhen to Hong Kong West Kowloon. I stayed overnight and then flew from Hong Kong Surabaya the next day. Does my route meet mainland China immigration regulations? Thank you

Do I properly understand you that your route will be:

Hong Kong -> Macau -> Shenzhen (Shekou) -> Wuhan -> Beijing -> Shanghai -> Guangzhou -> Shenzhen -> Hong Kong

If the answer is yes, then your itinerary is definitely eligible for 240 hour visa free transit and you can proceed with your travel plans with absolute peace of mind - visa free.

It is important to understand several details:
- You can take a ferry from Hong Kong to Macau
- From Macau you will take a ferry to Shekou in Shenzhen (check the sailing timetable at TurboJET ferry company website)
- When you disembark at Shekou do not head to the visa office or better to say, do not apply for a Shenzhen visa on arrival because you will see some of the passengers from the ferry are doing exactly that. Shenzhen VOA is not for you, but you will apply for 240 hour visa free transit at relevant counter at Shekou port. Please, have this detail in mind.
- At the moment of your departure from Macau toward Shekou (Shenzhen) you will be asked to present your exit (from mainland China) train or ferry ticket from Shenzhen to Hong Kong. Also, you will have to present that ticket when you apply for 240 hour visa free transit at Shenzhen port. In other words, you will have to buy your Shenzhen to Hong Kong train or ferry ticket in advance, even before you depart toward Shenzhen. Taking a train from Shenzhen to Hong Kong is by far the easiest option in your case.

Just to conclude, if your itinerary is as I have presented it, your itinerary definitely meets mainland Chinese immigration and 240 hour visa free transit rules. Have a nice visit to China.
