About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

144 hour visa free transit

I am living in Beijing. I am working here. My daughters (they are Chileans as do I) will be be in Spain and they want to travel to China for visit me, then we are going to Hong Kong and then they will go back to Spain and I will go back to Beijing. First question is: they are minors, so what documents they need to travel here for 144 visa free transit. Second question is: they are going to stay in my home in Beijing. Which document they need to provide in immigration desk about staying in Beijing?

Jorge, I can answer to the question regarding the eligibility of your daughters as far as 144 hour visa free transit is concerned. So, an itinerary:

Spain - Beijing - Hong Kong

Is definitely eligible for 144 hour visa free transit and your daughters do not need any kind of visa. It is important that they do not have any additional landing anywhere within mainland China within this particular itinerary. Your daughters will have to carry a proof of their flight from Beijing to Hong Kong.

Also, I can answer you to the question regarding their stay in your home in Beijing. Upon their arrival in Beijing they can stay at your home in Beijing, but you will take care to register them at the closest PSB (Public security bureau) within 24 hours after their arrival in China. It is recommended that you bring a person with you who speaks Chinese or if you speak Chinese, it will be you to accomplish this formality. Please, just do not forget to fulfill about this formality. Beside this registration, there are no other requirements.
