About:Visa on Arrival

Do I need a visa?

I am travelling to Hong Kong in April 2025. I plan on crossing the border to ShenZhen at Luo Hu Port. Do I need apply for a VOA at the port?

If you are an Australian citizen you do not need any kind of visa because Australian citizens can enter China visa free for up to 15 days. You can use any border crossing to enter mainland China, Lo Wu / Luohu border crossing included. Also, you can use a high speed train from Hong Kong West Kowloon station if you wish. All you need is your passport and at the border crossing you will fill out a Chinese arrival card. This is all you need and all you have to do to enter China, Shenzhen included and you can forget about visas. Have a nice journey.
