About:Visa on Arrival

Day trips from Shenzhen

Hi, I am visiting a friend in Shenzhen, and was due to land on Tuesday 22/10/24. I was hoping to do a day trip to Guangzhou and another trip (overnight) to Lantau in HK. My return flight in on Monday 28/10/24 from Shenzhen.

1/ My flight has just been changed, arriving a day earlier than originally booked. So I am now landing on
21/10/2024. Can I get a VOA if my return flight in on the 28/10/2024?
3/ Can I do day/overnight trips to HK, Macau and/or Guangzhou on a VOA visa?
4/ If so, will I have to re-apply for a Shenzhen VOA on each re-entry (therefore getting a new 5 days period on entry)?

I am traveling on a French passport.

Philippe, you do not have to bother yourself about this visa on arrival, visa free transit and similar stuff. French citizens are allowed to enter China absolutely visa free for a period of up to 15 days. Also, you can enter and exit mainland China within two or three consecutive days without any problem. In other words, you can treat all the borders you will encounter there in the same way as you have been traveling to UK.
