About:China Visa Entries / Validity / Duration of Stay

Repeated Entry on L Visa

Hi, I am planning to begin an online degree at an institution based in my home country, but would like to spend most of my time in China. If I have a multiple entry L visa allowing stays of up to 90 days, is there an official limit on how many times I can exit and enter the country in one calendar year, provided I do not exceed 90 days in a single stay? I would be staying in a private apartment with a lease contract under my own name, and I would not be working or receiving any income (including overseas income) or attending a formal study course. I would like to mainly stay in China as I am going to be majoring in music and wish to learn Chinese folk instruments (attending about 4-6 hours of private tutoring per week) and independently study Chinese music and history. I have savings in China from several years of legal full-time work as well as proof of funds and assets (property) in my home country. Would I be likely to encounter problems entering if my total non-continuous stays exceeded 183 days in one year? I would likely leave the country for at least two weeks between each stay and spend around 90 days per year in my home country.

There is no limit on the entries in one year, you can stay for more than 183 days within one year.
