About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

If my layover is not more than 8 hours.

Hi Sir,

If I'm travelling from Lahore ,Pakistan to Malaysia via Guangzhou airport and my layover is under 9 hours, consider the fact I don't intend to leave the airport, do I need 24hour visa free transit ?

Based on your presentation, you will be covered by 24 hour visa free transit and you do not need any kind of visa. 24 hour visa free transit is nothing you can get. This is your status when you fly via China without a visa to a third country. 24 hour visa free transit is not something you apply for, but you are covered by that rule/scheme/exception. When people want to exit the airport, they are applying for a temporary entry permit and not 24 hour visa free transit. They are already traveling covered by 24 hour visa free transit.

To conclude, since you plan to stay at the airport (airside), you will not be a subject of immigration or customs control, but you will just walk from one gate to the other to wait for your onward flight to Malaysia. There will be just a short security check between the two flights. Nothing more than that. Have a nice journey.
