About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

144 hour visa free transit

I have a US passport. I will be leaving USA December 19th at 12:20am with a 12 hour layover in Tokyo and then arriving in Beijing December 20th at 8:45pm. I will then leave Beijing on December 25th at 1:30pm to Hong Kong.
Do I qualify for the 144 hour visa free transit?
