About:Visa on Arrival

Day trip to Shenzhen

Hello,

I’m Polish citizen. I would like to do a day trip from Hong Kong to Shenzhen. Do I need to go in the morning to Lo Wu border point? What about return? Can I take any mean of transport and can I travel any time or boarding point are closed during late evening?

Yes, you should depart from Hong Kong to the border and Lo Wu (Luohu) is usual way to obtain a 5 day Shenzhen visa on arrival. You should arrive in the morning in the way to spare yourself from the queues that start forming in the morning hours. Visa offices starts at 09:00, so it is advisable to reach the border crossing at least at 08:30.

After you are over with your day trip, you are free to take any border crossing and any mean of transport out of Shenzhen, high speed included. Also, for your way back you can cross the border regardless of visa office opening hours.
