About:China Visa on Arrival

Is it Visa free to Hainan Island for Australian?

Hi there,

I have an Australian passport and will be in Hong Kong in August. I would like to join a 5-days tour from the Hong Kong Travel agent to Hainan Island. Do I need to apply for a Visa please?

Also I would like to spend a day (same day return) in Shenzhen. Can I apply a VOA and how much would it be please?

Elain, you can definitely visit Hainan visa free based on your tourist visit. You should just have in mind that your flights to and from Hainan are not allowed to have any landing within mainland China of any kind. You can fly to Hainan directly from Hong Kong, but not via any Chinese mainland city.

You can visit Shenzhen for up to 5 days and you can obtain a visa on arrival at one of three designated border crossings. The price for 5 days Shenzhen VOA is 130 CNY.
