You will be eligible for 144 hour visa free transit because your layover is longer than 24 hours. Also, there is no 72 hour visa free transit in Guangdong province because it was extended to 144 hours years ago. Also, you are advised to use correct terminology because this is not free visa transit, but purely visa free transit, so there is no visa at all.
You are advised to print out your flight tickets and your accommodation booking confirmation and to have those printouts at hand. Upon your landing in Guangzhou, the first thing what will you do is to approach transit counter where you will apply for a temporary entry permit by presenting those printouts. This application is free of charge. After a short check, your permits will be granted and you will cross the immigration. Basically, this is it. Have a nice journey.
