About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit in Guangdong

Leaving Guangzhou to HK via train on 144 hr visa free transit

I'm flying into Guangzhou from the US and hoping to utilize the 144-hour visa-free transit. Would taking the high-speed rail from Guangzhou to HK count as an exit? I will have a ticket going from HK to US

No, you cannot take a train on this route under 144 hour visa free transit because taking a train is not an allowed option.

You are advised to use a ferry provided by CKS - Chu Kong Passenger Transport Company. You can easily buy a ticket through their website from Nansha port that can be accessed by metro from Guangzhou. Please, have in mind that you will need this ticket printed out and in your hand even before you depart from US.
