Tiananmen Square

Do we need to have a Chinese mobile number to make reservations? Am going in July and trying to figure out if I will lose out if I wait until 7 days before to try the Wechat mini program or try to make other arrangements.

I am going to Forbidden City one of the mornings, do security usually allow people to go to the Square first?

If you have successfully made a reservation of the Forbidden City, then you don't need to make an appointment of Tian'anmen Square any more.
