Is Macau-Qingdao-Hong Kong eligible?

Hi,

Would an itinerary where country A would be Macau and country C would be Hong Kong, or vice versa, an eligible route? This is an hypothetical to know if this kind of Country A - Mainland China (B) - Country C would work for the 144 hour visa. In an actual itinerary there would be more countries before A and after C, but these would not matter if this A-B-C route would work.
