Portugal passport

Sorry for another dumb question - I have a UK passport and see it referenced above so know I can get VOA. I don’t see Portuguese entitlement anywhere… Can someone let me know? I’m think of going there for several days (from 13/2) from Thailand where I’m on holiday.

You can travel to Shenzhen on both passports, but the main difference is the price. UK citizens have to pay 834 CNY due to reciprocity and Portuguese citizens 275 CNY. So, if you have both passports and are in doubts, I suggest you a Portuguese one, of course.

One word of warning. Shenzhen airport visa office is closed. In other words, you cannot land there and apply for 5 days Shenzhen visa. You can do it only through two overland border crossings of Lo Wu (Luohu) and Huanggang and one sea border crossing in Shekou. Please, have this detail in mind to avoid any problematic situation. Also, you can see the opening hours of these three eligible border crossings above. If you choose overland border crossings you should be at the crossing even a bit earlier than 09:00.
