About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Layover in Beijing, heading to South Korea

Hi, I’m (UK citizen) flying from London to South Korea with a 24 hour layover in Beijing. I’m aware of the 24-hour visa free transit, however I’m a little confused about whether or not this will come at a cost? My group and I were hoping to book a hotel in Beijing for the night, and then return to the airport for the flight in the afternoon. Any help would be appreciated - thanks!

This is very simple. When you land in Beijing, you will approach transit counter where you will apply for a temporary entry permit to be allowed to exit the airport. This application is free of any charge and all the formalities regarding the 24 hour visa free transit are also free of any charge. You are just advised to print out your flight tickets as well as your hotel booking conformation in order to present them to the official when you apply for a temporary entry permit. Just proceed with your plans and be aware that all these formalities are free of any charge.
