About:China Visa Fees

Hi, first time flyer from New Zealand to South Korea for BTS, with 2 layovers in China

"I’ll be flying to Hangzhou, China, with a 6-hour layover, then proceeding to Beijing for an 18-hour layover, ending my journey in South Korea. Do I need a visa to explore these cities during my layovers? If so, how much does it cost, and is it included in my flight ticket? I have a similar layover on my return trip. Apologies if these questions seem basic—I’m new to flying and want to make sure I’m prepared for a great experience, as I depart on June 8th."

No, you don't need a visa as New Zealanders are granted 30-day visa-free entry to China and you will accept immigration check at Hangzhou Airport, then you are free to explore China and of course you can leave Beijing airport during the 18h layover.
