About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Turkish citizen - layover in Beijing Airport

I'm traveling from London to Sydney via a 10-hour layover in Shanghai. I don't intend to leave the airport, so as a Turkish citizen, can I book this flight? I saw that Turkish citizens are not eligible for 24h visa-free transit, but since I'm not leaving the airport, I shouldn't worry about it, right? Thanks for your help.

Actually, Turkish citizens are eligible for 24 hour visa free transit and this scheme will allow you to normally and visa free transit via Shanghai airport. You do not need any kind of visa. You have probably mixed up 24 hour visa free transit and the possibility to exit the airport because those are two different things. In order to exit the airport you would have to apply for a temporary entry permit upon your landing in Shanghai at the transit counter. However, since your layover is not a long one, you are maybe better remaining in the transit area. You do not have any reason to worry about any single detail. Just relax and enjoy your journey.
