Is Transit Visa Required for Turkish Citizen living in Malaysia?

Hi there,
I am a citizen of Turkey and Egypt living in Malaysia with my Malaysian wife. I am also a Permanent Resident of Malaysia. I plan to book a ticket with China Eastern Airlines for my flight from Tokyo to Kuala Lumpur as follows:
1) Tokyo, Narita to Yantai - transit in Yantai for 21 hours 20 minutes ; Yantai to Shanghai Airport - transit in Shanghai Airport for 3 hours 55 minutes; Shanghai to Kuala Lumpur
OR
2) Tokyo, Narita to Wuhan - transit in Wuhan for 14 hours 20 minutes; Wuhan to Shanghai Airport - transit in Shanghai Airport for 9 hours 35 minutes; Shanghai to Kuala Lumour

Questions:
1) Will I need to apply for a Transit Visa for the above 2 stopovers in China?
2) If Transit Visa is required, can I apply for the Transit Visa while in Tokyo?

Thank you for your assistance.

You need a transit visa for route one only. And you need to apply for it in Malaysia, Turkey or Egypt, your long-term residential place or home country.

For route 2, if the duration from your scheduled arrival in wuhan to scheduled departure from Shanghai is less than 24 hours, no visa will be needed, covering by 24-hour visa-free transit.
