Assuming that Shanghai is your only stop within mainland China, your itinerary will be definitely covered by 24 hour visa free transit and you do not need any kind of visa. If you are flying on a single (through) ticket, you will just remain within the transit area (airside) of Shanghai airport, but if you travel on separate tickets, you will apply for a temporary entry permit immediately upon your landing in Shanghai in order to collect your luggage and to perform new check-in for your onward flight to Turkey. This application is done at the transit counter (desk) and is absolutely free of any charge and here you will just present your flight tickets.
Also, I encourage you to use correct terminology because this is not 24 hours transit visa, but 24 hour visa free transit, so there is no visa of any kind at all.
