About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

24 Hours Visa Free Transit - Vietnamese Passport

Flying Sydney - GuangZhou - Ha Noi with CSA. Transit time in GuangZhou is 17 hours. Have a well read the information above that I am eligible for 24 hours Visa Free Transit. Just confuse what I need to do at the airport? I need to check in at CSA counter as usual and tell the check in staff that I want 24 hours visa free transit? Then they issue me 2 boarding passes? 1 is Sydney to Guangzhou and 2 is guangzhou to Hanoi? Then When I land at GuangZhou, I go to the visa free counter to have a sticker/stamp on my passport? then I process to immigration to enter China? Then I have to back to airport 3 hours before my GuangZhou - Hanoi flight? Am I right? or missing anything? Thank you very much.

You have perfectly understood every single step. Just two details:

- When you approach transit counter (desk) in Guangzhou you will apply for a temporary entry permit, just for you to know the formal name of that stamp/sticker.
- It is advisable to print out your tickets as well as your hotel booking if you plan to have one.

Hi, How about luggage? Will I have to collect in CAN and re-drop bag or it will all the way to Australia? Thanks

It depends on your airlines. If you use different airlines, generally you need to collect luggage. It is better to confirm with the air company in advance.

In reality, if you travel with the same airline on a single ticket, it is almost certain that your luggage will be tagged all the way to Hanoi. However, you will confirm this detail at the check-in in Sydney.
