About:Shanghai 15-day Visa-free Policy for Cruise Tour Groups

Stopover at Shanghai

We will visit Shanghai on a cruise, we will be there for 2 days, each day we have booked an excursion via HollandAmericaLine. Is it possible to get off the ship at night to visit the city at our own?

Yes, you are allowed to that as far as the Chinese authorities are concerned, but you should also ask Holland America Line if they are fine with that. You never know the policies of the cruise ship operator unless you ask them.
