About:Transfer in T3 of Beijing Capital Airport

Italian citizen, resident in Japan, flying from Tokyo to Rome, 18 hours layover in PEK

Hi. On next november 4th I am flying from Tokyo to Rome. I have 18.5 hrs layover in Beijing PEK airport. I am checking online but it is not clear if I will be allowed to leave the airport and stay at one of the hotels close to the airport, since I have not any VISA.

You are eligible for the 24-hour visa-free transit so no visa is needed. Generally, it is possible for you to get a temporary entry permit to get out of the airport. However, recently, someone has been rejected to get one so it is really hard to say if you will meet the same question.
