About:Chinese Embassies and Consulates

VOA

I am a Japanese passport holder and an exhibitor at an international exhibition that will be held in Shanghai for four days this year from Japan.
Also, I have an invitation letter for M-VISA.
Is it possible to enter and exit using VISA on-arrival?

If my VISA on-arrival is rejected, could I switch to apply a 144h transit VISA on the spot?
Is it possible to trip for the purpose of the exhibition participating?
After Shanghai, I will need to go to South Korea for an exhibition and will stay there for one or two days.

There is no Visa on Arrival in Shanghai.

You are covered by 144-hour visa-free transit adn the route Japan - Shanghai - South Korea is an eligible one, just make sure there is no other additional landings in China before and after Shanghai.
