Stopover question

If my flight transit is London to Beijing and then 4 days later Beijing to London but with a stopover in Amsterdam, will that qualify for visa free transit ?

It qualifies if your London to Beijing flight does not also stop in Amsterdam, So if your flights are all on KLM then you need a visa.

Yes, of course it will. It is important to have in mind that only the immediate points before and after a mainland Chinese city matter in this scheme. In other words, as far as this scheme is concerned, your itinerary is:

London - Beijing - Amsterdam

Everything before London and everything after Amsterdam is irrelevant as long as London and Amsterdam are your immediate points before and after Beijing.
