Tourist Visa Roundtrip Query

Hi. I plan to visit Kunming in November entering by plane from Bangkok, and leaving a few days later for Vientiane by train. As they are different forms of transport, will this be a problem when requesting a toursist visa in London?

No, it should not be a problem as long as you can prove you will leave China.
