About:How to Apply a China Visa in Hong Kong

Chinese business visa extension

I am dutch and currently working in china for a 5 month period, but the visa I currently hold is only for 30 days stay. Is it feasible to have it extended for longer and maybe even the full 5 months? Traveling to HK is an option but as I understand it is not common to receive a visa from a third country. Please advise me what I can do to obtain a visa for 4 more months or longer.

It is possible to extend the visa. But the extended duration of stay is usually shorter than the original duration of stay. Anyway, provide sound proofs that you need to stay in China for 5 months. Applying in HK is also an option; but the success rate is not high.

Thank you Kevin. The question I have remains how can I apply for a 5 months stay if the entry and exit administration office only grants extensions as long as the original visa, in my case 30 days that is?

If you have reasonable proofs, generally they may give you a valid extension. However, if you failed, going back to your country and re-applying one is necessary. You can also consult the local entry and exit administration bureau for a better option. Good luck!
