About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

144 hour free visa

Will I need to obtain a visa or can I apply for the 144 hour free transit visa. My flight there USA - Ethiopia - Guangzhou. I will be staying in Guangzhou for 5 days. My return flight is Guangzhou - Ethiopia (staying 1+ day) - USA.

Unfortunately, you will have to obtain a Chinese visa in advance because the segment of your itinerary:

Ethiopia - Guangzhou - Ethiopia

Is just a return trip and cannot be considered as a transit because you miss a third country.
