About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Hello. I am travelling to Australia with 15hr transit in Shanghai, do I need a 72hrs visa or will I be eligible for a 24hr transit if I leave the airport. Do I need to apply for these or do anything before I leave the UK? Thank you

The route UK - Shanghai - Australia is eligible for 24-hour visa free transit. You don't need to do anyting beforehand. Just have your passport and onward flight ticket in hand when landing in China.
