Passport renewed

The passport number that was indicated on my work permit notification and job offer letters now has a little less than six months of validity, which is less than the minimum required for visa applications. I have done a renewal, but it carries a different passport number.

Can this change in passport number be an issue when I apply for a work visa? Although all other details (name, nationality, sex, date of birth, and place of birth) are exactly the same. I intend to present the old passport alongside the new one.
