About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

USA->HKG->US (US Citizen) - Can I visit Guangzhou for 2 days if I take train from HKG?

I am a US Citizen, traveling to Hong Kong for 10 days to visit family. I have a confirmed airline booking for both my arrival and departure between USA & HKG.
If I take a train from Hong Kong to Guangzhou (direct or via Shenzhen) during my visit, do I still need China visa to visit Guangzhou for 2 days?

You can visit Guangzhou but under the following conditions:

1. You have to fly from Hong Kong to Guangzhou
2. You have to exit to Macau (you can immediately return to Hong Kong after you have docked in Macau)
3. You have to take a ferry from Shekou port in Shenzhen to Macau

If you fulfill the above requirements you will be eligible for 144 hour visa free transit in entire Guangdong province.

Also, you will have to buy your ferry ticket through TurboJet website before your departure from Hong Kong, you will have to print it out and have it with you. Also, you will have to take exactly that ferry you have bought your ticket for. Please note, there is no a single eligible option being it entry or exit by train.
