Traveling from Hong Kong To Shen Zhen by train for Day Trip

Hi,
I'm a Singaporean planning for a day trip to Shen Zhen for holiday. I will be flying from Singapore to Hong Kong and take train from Hong Kong to Shen Zhen. May i know do i have to apply Visa beforehand? If yes, how much will it cost and roughly how long is the processing time? Can the Visa application be done online?

If you travel to Shenzhen only, the best option is to rely on 5 days Shenzhen visa on arrival. You will just appear at one of several designated border crossings and apply for this visa. You should have in mind that with this visa you are allowed to stay just within Shenzhen city limits. In any case, you are advised to take a ferry from Hong Kong to Shenzhen because of much shorter waiting times compared to those on overland border crossings. You should just be aware of the opening hours of Shekou visa office: 9:00 - 13:00 & 14:30 - 16:30. After your stay in Shenzhen you can return to Hong Kong by taking any transport option or any border crossing.

If you travel from HK to Shenzhen by train, you need to apply for a China visa beforehand in your country. After all the requirements are submitted, it usually needs 4-5 working days to process the visa. The thing is it may not be easy to make an appointment to submit the requirements. A single-entry costs S$86.
