About:Chengdu Tianfu International Airport

20 hour transit in Chengdu

Hello,
I have a l transit time of 20 hours (largely day time) in Chengdu within an international flight to Europe (end of June).
As a first time traveller to Sichuan, and an English speaker, I was wondering where best to sightsee in Chengdu during that time, that would be easiest to navigate and get to from Tianfu Airport?
I am hoping for somewhere not overly crowded (I am a solo traveller) that is easy to get to by bus or train with either no transfer or an easy transfer there.
Ideally something that is unique to Sichuan / China and safe to walk around alone. ie with beautiful scenery, or a historic site, or unique buildings/area of the city. I would love to go to the Panda Base, but wondering if that is too tricky.
I would have roughly 11 hours of daylight to explore Chengdu.
Thank You!

Generally, visiting panda base is available and it takes about 2 hours to get there from the airport. Take Airport Bus Line 3 from the airport to the Zoo Station. The bus is operated every 30 minutes and it takes 1.5 hour and CNY25. After that, you can take a taxi to the panda base, costing about CNY 20-30, and taking about 15 minutes. But the Panda Base is probably crowded. Actually, most populart sites in Chengdu may be crowded.

Actually, after visiting the Panda Base, you will also have enough time to visit more sites, like Wuhou Temple and the adjacent Jinli Street, to feel the antique atmosphere and taste local food. From the Panda Base, you can take shuttle bus to Panda Avenue and then metro line 3 to Gaoshengqiao and at last walk for a few minutes. The transfer needs about 70 minutes.
