Singe Entry Business Visa Extension

I have a single entry Business Visa valid for 30 days but I’d like to extend it to another 30 days. Is it possible to extend the Business Visa within mainland China or Hongkong?

or do I have to travel back to my country and re-apply for a new business visa.

Yes, you can extend it in the entry and exit administration of the local public Security Bureau in mainland China.
